Madalyn

My friend Maddie is an exceptional photographer, is extremely goofy, and is also one of my favorite people to photograph. Here is a collection of photos that I have taken of her over the past year. Find her work here.

Medhane/Code Wedding Celebration, 2nd Day

I was asked to document the second day of wedding celebrations for Makele Medhane and Kimberly Code's union, when the Eriterian community comes out in force for a celebration with traditional dress, music, and food. It was a fantastic opportunity to witness firsthand traditions I know nothing about and have never experienced. Thanks for inviting me, welcoming me, and sharing all the Mes (fermented honey wine)!!

Columbus Flea, Summer 2015

Here are my favorites from the Summer 2015 edition of the Columbus Flea, an event I look forward to every year. It's my favorite combination of culture, music, marketplace, and socializing that can be found in Columbus. Find info on the Flea here.

Bickel Church Road House

Visited this long abandoned house last weekend. My grandparents Wendall and Helen (RIP) lived within view of this home. I swam often in their above ground pool with my brother and sister and wondered how a whole house could be left there. Inside, a piano slowly is sinking through the floor and a family of raccoons are the only inhabitants. (caption originally appeared on my instagram.) My good friend Javi appears in most of the photos, exploring this house for the first time.

Annie, Headshot Project

This is Annie and she is a competitive bartender, cocktail maker, and a little bit of an entertainer. She excels at her craft and has placed well in national cocktail competitions, a result of which is a trip to France to compete on the international cocktail scene. She required pictures of herself for the promotional side of what she loves to do, but she does not always love to be in front of the camera. We shot at multiple locations in Columbus: Seventh Son Brewing, Watershed Distillery, and Curio/Harvest. I'm very happy with the results of this shoot, and I wish Annie the best as she creates wonderfully memorable cocktails.
