New York Times, July 8th, 2017

I photographed James for a story in the New York Times covering seller-financed, contract for deed real estate deals. The photographs were taken in Cincinnati and I'm just ecstatic with how the final images look. Credit to my photo editor Leslie for a great assignment and for believing in me! Phil and Molly, 05.27.17

I photographed a lovely, relaxed wedding that took place in rural Northwest Ohio during Memorial Day weekend on the bride's grandparent's property. I have to hand it to Phil and Molly for setting the tone for the whole day with their welcoming and low-key vibes. This couple had SO MUCH FUN and you could really see it on their faces. As usual, here are just a few photos from a perfect day to get married in Ohio.

On Tour

When you're 38 and the band you've been in for 3 1/2 years goes out of town to play shows, a camera is essential packing for the times you're not just sitting in the car eating Chex Mix, camping in a rain storm, or playing drums to people that will never understand why a band would have a saxophone in it. There were lots of pictures I couldn't take on this trip but here are the ones I have.

Desert Stars

I always try and take a few pictures of the sky when I'm in the desert. The unobstructed skyline, and relative lack of light pollution are too inviting to pass up. Also just hanging out in the dark in the desert alone is a strange experience. This particular photo was taken without a tripod, in the Sheephole Valley Wilderness, using a hoodie to 'stabilize' the camera on the top of my car. The light in the foreground is from the headlights of a passing car. The universe is right there, look up!

Jewelweed

Forgot to post some photos from a collaborative shoot I did with Jewelweed Floral Studio a few months ago. I set up a mobile studio in the store, Sarah created a set full of plants, Adele modeled, and we went from there. It was super fun and I love how the photos came out.
